- Telling and selling a story... Digitally...Freestanding Video Wall Installation for Investis London Office
Client: Investis Product Interest: Freestanding Video Wall Creating a Large-Scale Digital Feature Within a Glass Office Environment Windsor Displays were approached by Investis, a global digital communications company, to design and install a Video Wall solution within their London office located on Fashion Street. The objective was to create a high-impact digital display that would: • enhance the visitor experience, • showcase promotional video content, • reinforce the company’s creative digital identity, • and conceal a large internal glass structure positioned centrally within the office space. The project required a creative structural solution due to the unique architectural environment and the limitations of mounting directly onto glass. The Brief – A Video Wall Visible from the Entrance Investis wanted to install a 3 x 3 LCD video wall positioned around the central glass lift structure within the open-plan ground floor office. The display needed to: • be clearly visible from the main entrance, • create visual impact within the reception environment, • and display looped promotional content showcasing Investis Digital’s work and capabilities. The office itself featured a distinctive open-plan layout, including staff bicycle parking and exposed architectural elements, creating a highly modern and creative workspace environment. A large-format Freestanding Video Wall solution was identified as the ideal approach to achieve the desired scale and visibility. Why Direct Mounting onto Glass Was Not Possible The client’s original request was to mount the LCD video wall directly onto the glass wall surrounding the lift structure. However, during our technical site survey, Windsor Displays identified that this would not be a viable or safe installation method. Commercial LCD video wall systems become extremely heavy once: • display panels, • mounting structures, • processing hardware, • and supporting components are combined. Glass structures are generally unsuitable for supporting this level of concentrated load without specialist engineering and structural redesign. Following detailed assessment, Windsor Displays proposed a bespoke Freestanding Video Wall structure that would: • safely support the displays independently, • avoid loading the glass structure, • and still achieve the desired visual appearance and positioning. Designing the Freestanding Video Wall Solution The bespoke freestanding structure allowed the video wall to sit directly in front of the glass lift area while remaining structurally independent from the surrounding architecture. This approach provided several advantages: • safe structural support, • concealed cable management, • improved installation flexibility, • future service access, • and a clean professional finish. The completed installation created a striking digital feature within the centre of the office space while also visually masking the large glass lift structure behind it. The system was connected to a dedicated media player, allowing Investis to display: • promotional videos, • branded content, • digital campaigns, • and engaging motion graphics on a continuous loop. Future Relocation & Reconfiguration One of the major long-term advantages of the Freestanding Video Wall design became clear when Investis later relocated offices. Because the system had been designed as a freestanding installation rather than permanently integrated into the architecture, Windsor Displays were able to: • remove the existing video wall, • relocate the hardware, • and reinstall the displays within the new office environment. To suit the new space requirements, the LCD video walls were reformatted into a 2 x 2 configuration mounted onto freestanding stands. This flexible approach ensured: • minimal hardware redundancy, • reduced waste, • improved long-term value, • and continued use of the original commercial display investment. The Result The completed Freestanding Video Wall installation successfully delivered Investis’ objective to communicate powerful brand stories through dynamic digital content. The display created: • a visually impactful office feature, • engaging visitor communications, • and a strong digital focal point within the workspace. The project demonstrated how a professionally designed Freestanding Video Wall solution can overcome architectural limitations while still delivering a premium visual experience. Considering a Freestanding Video Wall Installation? Freestanding Video Walls are an ideal solution for environments where: • direct wall mounting is not possible, • structural limitations exist, • glass walls are involved, • or future flexibility is important. They are increasingly used within: • reception areas, • corporate offices, • creative studios, • experience centres, • and commercial environments requiring large-scale digital communications. If you are considering a Freestanding Video Wall installation for your business, Windsor Displays can advise on suitable display technologies, structural solutions, and bespoke installation approaches tailored to your environment.

- LCD Video Walls – Common Questions Answered
LCD video walls have become one of the most effective ways for businesses to create impactful visual communication within corporate spaces, reception areas, retail environments, control rooms, and public venues. However, one of the biggest challenges for businesses considering a video wall is understanding exactly what is involved before investing in the technology. Below, we answer some of the most common questions we receive about LCD video walls. What Is an LCD Video Wall? An LCD video wall is a large-format display solution created by combining multiple commercial LCD screens, usually 49” or 55” together to form one large visual canvas. The screens are mounted closely together showing minimal ultra-narrow bezels, when set-up as required, they allow content to span across multiple panels simultaneously. Video walls are commonly used for: • Reception areas • Corporate lobbies • Retail stores • Control rooms • Universities • Showrooms • Experience centres • Broadcast environments They can display high resolution: • Video content • Branding • Dashboards • Presentations • Live data • Advertising • Interactive content What Is the Difference Between an LCD Video Wall and LED Wall? This is one of the most common questions. An LCD video wall uses multiple commercial LCD panels with visible bezel joins between each screen. A: An LED wall uses direct-view LED modules with no visible bezel lines. LCD video walls are often the preferred solution when: • Viewing distances are relatively close • Budgets are more controlled • High resolution is required at smaller sizes • Corporate environments require a cleaner, sharper image LED walls are typically chosen for: • Larger displays • Long-distance viewing • Feature walls • Bright public environments Both technologies have their place - the correct solution depends on the application. Are the Bezels Visible? A: Yes - although modern LCD video wall panels now use ultra-narrow bezels, even as thin as 0.88mm there will still be a visible join between each screen. Typical bezel gaps range from approximately 0.88mm to 3.5mm combined bezel width depending on the model selected. For: • corporate branding, • data dashboards, • advertising, • digital artwork, • and general video content, the bezel lines are usually minimal and accepted as part of the technology. If completely seamless visuals are essential, LED may be the better solution. How Large Can an LCD Video Wall Be? A: There is no fixed limit. Video walls are commonly configured as: • 2x2 • 3x3 • 4x4 • 5x5 • Landscape or portrait orientation • Bespoke layouts The final size depends on: • available wall space, • viewing distance, • content requirements, • structural support, • and budget. Some installations use only four screens, while others may consist of dozens of panels. Can LCD Video Walls Be Mounted Onto Any Wall? A: Not always. This is one of the most important parts of planning a video wall installation. LCD video walls are heavy once the mounting system and multiple screens are combined. The mounting surface must be suitable for the total load. We always assess: • wall construction, • fixing points, • weight loading, • ventilation, • power availability, • and service access. In many cases: • solid walls are ideal, • stud walls may require reinforcement, • and decorative finishes may need modification. Site surveys are typically essential before confirming installation feasibility. Do LCD Video Walls Require Ventilation? A: Yes. Commercial LCD displays generate heat, particularly within larger video wall arrays operating for extended periods. Proper airflow behind and around the screens is important to: • maintain performance, • improve lifespan, • reduce overheating risks, • and allow service access. This becomes even more important within: • recessed walls, • enclosed joinery, • or high ambient temperature environments. What Content Can Be Displayed on an LCD Video Wall? A: Almost anything. Content can include: • promotional videos, • PowerPoint presentations, • social media feeds, • live TV, • company branding, • dashboards, • digital signage content, • or interactive applications. Video wall processors and CMS platforms allow businesses to: • split content zones, • manage multiple inputs, • schedule content, • and control displays remotely. How Long Do LCD Video Walls Last? Commercial LCD video wall displays are designed for continuous operation and are significantly more reliable than domestic televisions. LCD Video Walls come with 3 year manufacturers warranty. Most professional panels are rated for: • 24/7 operation, • long operational lifespans, • and commercial usage environments. However, lifespan can still be affected by: • heat, • ventilation, • usage hours, • environmental conditions, • and overall installation quality. Using commercial-grade hardware is critical. Are LCD Video Walls Expensive? A: Costs vary significantly depending on: • screen size, • bezel specification, • mounting complexity, • processing requirements, • installation works, • and content management systems. A small corporate 2x2 video wall may be relatively affordable, while large bespoke installations can become major AV projects. What matters most is ensuring: • the correct technology is selected, • the structure is suitable, • and the solution achieves the intended visual impact. What Should Be Considered Before Installing an LCD Video Wall? Before proceeding with a project, businesses should consider: 1. Viewing Distance How close will viewers be to the display? 2. Ambient Light Will sunlight or bright lighting affect visibility? 3. Structural Support Can the wall safely support the system? 4. Power & Data Are suitable connections available behind the display? 5. Service Access Can screens be maintained easily in the future? 6. Content Strategy What will actually be displayed day-to-day? These factors heavily influence the final specification. Is a Site Survey Required? A: For most LCD video wall projects - absolutely. A site survey allows installers to assess: • structural suitability, • cable routes, • ventilation, • mounting requirements, • access restrictions, • and overall feasibility. It also helps avoid unexpected installation costs later in the project. Considering an LCD Video Wall? LCD video walls remain one of the most effective display solutions for businesses looking to create visual impact within commercial spaces. The key to a successful project is ensuring: • the correct technology is selected, • the structure is suitable, • and the installation is properly planned from the outset. If you are considering an LCD video wall for your reception area, retail environment, showroom, or corporate space, our team would be happy to discuss suitable solutions and installation options. - 4 Mounting options for Window Digital Signage Displays
So what are the options when mounting in a Window space? When mounting a screen inside a window, it's important to allow a breathing gap around 50-100mm between the front of the screen and the window glass. This allows for adequate airflow around the screen, as High Bright Screens used for window displays can generate heat and in the hot summer months the temperature behind a south facing window can mount up . When sourcing mounting solutions, you need to ensure your mounting brackets, poles and floor/ceiling plates are designed for the size, weight and vesa pattern of the screen/s you wish to mount. These systems often come in a black, chrome or white finish. 4 Mounting options for window spaces: Floor mounting Suspended from the ceiling. A floor to ceiling pole system Mounting on an extending arm to a side wall, (only for smaller screens) or wall mounted, assuming you have a wall or solid structure in your window space. Which option you choose will be governed by both personal preferences (including aesthetics) but also practical considerations as outlined below: 1 – Floor mounting: There are 2 options here: Free standing. There are in-fact very few High Bright, off-the-shelf freestanding units on the market. But when you do find them, or have some designed as a bespoke project, they will often have a large footprint and be very heavy, this is to support the weight of the screen and provide a safe sturdy solution which cannot be easily pushed over. With the large base, freestanding units/cases can often mean the screen may end up being some distance from the glass, especially if you have window sills and ledges in the way. Bolted to the floor using a pole system. This allows for the screen to be sited nearer to the glass, but most importantly, if the area is open to the public a bolted system offers greater security and safety. You would need to ensure the composition of any floor covering plus floor/base is sturdy enough to mount to. Bolted mounting plates also have a smaller footprint. For large screens size 65+ you should probably look at dual pole mounting solutions. 2 – Suspended from the ceiling Excluding the steelwork for the mounting an ultra-high bright screen can weigh in the region of 30Kg (based on a 55” screen). This kind of weight cannot be supported from a suspended or a plasterboard ceiling, unless we are able to locate a solid beam to attach fixings to. Strengthening can be undertaken, this may involve cutting into the ceiling and constructing a suitable brace to ensure any load is taken by adjoining beams. 3 – Floor to ceiling pole mounted To some customers, this can look quite an attractive option. In this instance the floor can support most of the weight with the ceiling fixing acting as support to keep the pole vertical, or visa versa. Some strengthening may still be required. Don’t forget to consider: Location of Power supply & Network or Wifi connection Finally, it may seem obvious, but surprising how many customers don’t think about the location of the plug socket. On average, screens tend to come with 1.5m power cables. It is possible to have longer cables, but nevertheless depending on where you decide to mount, then you will need a 13amp socket either in the ceiling or on the floor. For pole mounting you will often require a longer power lead than comes as standard with the screen. Many remote content management systems will require connection to the internet, either via a hardwire or wifi connection. For most, buying a digital screen is just the beginning and it is important to appreciate that due consideration be given where and how the screen will be installed. The good news is that once installed and running, you’ll be joining thousands of retailers large and small using advanced digital displays that can feature compelling messages to increase your footfall. Two Commonly asked questions, when mounting screens in windows…. After thorough research and working with hundreds of clients to improve their window displays. Over the last 25 years, we have learned the best ways digital screens can be mounted, managed, and used to capture attention and persuade shoppers to enter your store. Q: “Can we mount the screen to the glass?” A: The basic answer is no. Most Digital signage screens are mounted using their Vesa holes located on the back of the screen. There are of course a few open frame screens, which are usually designed for mounting into an aperture with a surround, where you mount to the back of the surround, often for touch screens such as cash point machines or point of sale. Q; “Can we mount the screen onto the window frame?” A: Again, it would have to be a no. Most window frames are not designed to take the loads exerted by a screen and any mounting system employed. Even if the frame is a modern aluminum profile, there is a huge risk of damaging the double glazed unit and we would not want to compromise the strength of the frame by drilling holes into a frame not designed for this purpose. And remember, ultra-high bright screens [insert link] (usually used in shop windows) tend to be larger and heavier mainly due to additional components such as either cooling fans or heat sinks which are designed to dissipate heat in place of fans. In a previous article we covered the big question, How bright should your screen be? [insert link] and in this piece we are covering the very important, but often ignored issue of mounting options for your screen. This question will arise once you have decided on the size and type of screen.
- Driving Customer Engagement with QR Codes on Digital Signage
The Concept: Entice, Engage, Reward Imagine this: a customer walks past your digital screen and sees a bright, eye-catching message | “Scan this QR code for a FREE coffee next Thursday!” | In a moment, they’ve taken out their phone, snapped the code, and claimed their reward. That one small interaction just bridged the gap between passive viewing and active engagement, turning your screen into a two-way conversation. This is the power of combining QR codes with digital signage: you turn a simple display into a dynamic, interactive tool that not only delivers content, but collects insights, drives behaviour, and adds value to the customer experience. What Are the Benefits of Pairing QR Codes with Digital Displays? 1. Contactless Convenience QR codes allow customers to interact with your signage without touching anything but their own phone. It’s easy, and ideal for busy retail or hospitality environments. 2. Faster, Smarter Service Rather than queueing up or asking staff, customers can scan and self-serve. Whether it’s joining a loyalty program, checking in, or redeeming an offer, this streamlines service and reduces wait times — a win for you and them. 3. Personalised Promotions Want to offer a different deal for return visitors? Or share content tailored to time of day or location? With QR codes, you can direct users to personalised landing pages, coupons, or product info — all from one screen. 4. Add Depth to Messaging Your screen might be 55 inches, but a QR code can link to unlimited content: product specs, reviews, how-to videos, or campaign pages. It’s the perfect bridge between in-store and online journeys. A QR Code can: Link to a product page – ie ‘Order online’ Link to an offer page – ie ‘Free Coffee next Thursday’ Link to a login/members page – ‘Capture data’ Link to a booking page - ‘Book a table for dinner’ Link to a review or survey - ‘Complete our short survey’ 5. Easy Customer Feedback Want instant feedback? Add a QR code linking to a short survey. This makes it easy for visitors to tell you what they think, while the experience is still fresh – giving you valuable insights without adding friction. Best Practices for Using QR Codes on Digital Displays •. Rotate Offers and Codes - Use your signage's scheduling tools to rotate through different QR-linked promotions, like one code for a discount, another for a survey, or a special time-based freebie (e.g. “Free treat every Thursday!”). •. Keep It Current - Make sure the content behind each QR code is always relevant and live. Nothing kills engagement faster than a “page not found.” •. Design to Catch the Eye - Use bold visuals, clear instructions (“Scan here for your reward!”), and animated elements to draw attention. The screen should do the heavy lifting — your customer just needs to scan. Results: A New Way to Connect By introducing “Free Offer” QR codes into their digital signage campaigns, clients have: Boosted footfall and dwell time in stores Increased data capture and customer feedback Modernised their brand presence Turned passive screens into active sales and marketing tools Why not give it a go? - create your QR code Plan today Whether you’re a coffee shop, a retail chain, or a corporate lobby, Windsor Displays can help you create smart, connected digital signage strategies using QR codes to drive real engagement. 📞 Call us: 01252 560911 Email: info@windsor-displays.com www.windsor-displays.com/contact
- Reception Video Wall Display – Transforming Citizen Watch’s Reception Space with Digital Signage
Creating a memorable first impression is becoming increasingly important for modern offices and corporate headquarters. For many businesses, the reception area is the first thing visitors, customers, and staff experience when entering the building - making it the perfect place to showcase brand identity, company culture, and products through a modern Reception Video Wall Display. This was exactly the challenge faced by Citizen Watch when looking to modernise and elevate a smaller reception space within their head office. A Small Reception Space with Big Expectations The original concept sounded relatively simple. Citizen Watch wanted to improve the appearance of their reception area using digital signage, creating something modern, engaging, and visually impactful for visitors entering the office. Initially, the idea was to install a large 55" TV in landscape orientation on the main reception wall. While practical, the client felt the solution lacked impact and didn’t fully deliver the premium visual statement they were looking for. The space needed something more impressive.Something with genuine wow factor. That’s when Windsor Displays were contacted to explore alternative ideas and recommend a more suitable digital display solution. Understanding the Space Properly One of the most important stages of any digital signage project is understanding the physical environment properly before recommending hardware. As soon as we received wall measurements and photographs of the reception area, it became clear that the space itself would heavily influence the best solution. The key observation was simple:the wall was naturally a portrait-oriented space. This immediately raised concerns about using a traditional landscape screen. While a standard 55" display would technically fit, it wouldn’t maximise the available visual space or create the striking appearance the client wanted. By understanding the proportions of the wall early in the process, we were able to explore a much wider range of creative display options. Exploring Large Portrait Display Options Our initial recommendation was to consider much larger commercial displays installed in portrait orientation. Options such as: 86" commercial displays 98" commercial displays …would create a far larger and more immersive digital canvas within the reception area. Mounted vertically, these displays would: better suit the proportions of the wall create stronger visual impact provide a modern architectural appearance allow Citizen Watch to showcase products, branding, and company news in a much more captivating way The concept worked perfectly on paper. However, further investigation revealed another challenge. The Installation Challenge While the reception area itself was relatively compact, the building access route presented a major issue. The wall was not located on the ground floor, meaning transporting and manoeuvring extremely large-format displays such as 86" or 98" screens through internal access routes became impractical. This is one of the realities of commercial digital signage projects:sometimes the ideal screen solution simply cannot physically reach the installation location. Rather than forcing an unsuitable solution, we revisited the brief and looked at alternative ways to achieve the same visual impact. The Video Wall Solution After reviewing the space again, we knew one obvious option would be an LED screen, as direct-view LED technology is made up of modular LED tiles or cabinets that connect seamlessly to create one large continuous display surface. However, to achieve good resolution across a relatively small screen requires high pixel pitch options. Unfortunately, this came in at a higher price tag than the budget allowed. The answer became clear: a Reception Video Wall Display would deliver the scale, flexibility, resolution, and visual impact the client was looking for, while also solving the access limitations. We proposed a portrait-format video wall using: 3 x 55" commercial video wall displays mounted in landscape in a 1x3 landscape configuration professionally aligned to create one seamless portrait digital canvas This approach allowed the screens to fit perfectly within the available wall area while still delivering a large-format visual experience. We also presented two bezel options: 3.5mm total bezel video wall displays ultra-fine 0.88mm bezel displays While the ultra-fine bezel option offered the most seamless appearance, budget considerations made the 3.5mm bezel solution the preferred choice for the project. Creating the Content Experience The display itself was only part of the solution. To fully maximise the impact of the installation, content was specifically designed and formatted to suit the portrait video wall layout. Using a dedicated 4K media player, content could be displayed seamlessly across all three screens as one unified visual experience. - Consider vital elements when buying a video wall
Managing a video wall project can be more complex than you might imagine so here we talk about the 4 main elements that make up almost every video wall project. Hardware – made up of screens and specialist mounts, many video wall displays will require multiple input sources, controllers, possibly a matix system AV/IP setup, and of course cabling. Installation. Commissioning the system set up, each screen calibrated, connected, and checked. Project Management Specifying the correct hardware and software for your specific requirements, managing site survey and installation. With project management comes accountability and a responsibility for the products supplied and installed. It can be very tempting, in order to save money, to choose to separate the above elements and span this across a few different contractors. This is always an option, however it’s important to ensure and consider: 1/ Video wall Hardware is fairly universal, with a choice of individual screen sizes (usually 49” or 55”) most of the manufacturer’s products offer the same specifications and features. You cannot go wrong here so long as you buy from a reputable supplier and purchase a commercial Video wall screen and certainly not a TV. For more on this see our blog on 7 key reasons why Televisions may not be suitable for commercial use. Other hardware such as video matrix, AV/IP, transmitters and recievers and especially cables etc should always be of good commercial quality. Opting for cheap alternatives will often result in failure before they should, which will cause undue extra work and cost. But today you have a choice of bezel widths or a seamless direct lit LED screen, they question is which screen to buy? 2/ Good installation is key; here you have to rely on the experience of your installer. Video wall screens are typically mounted on specialist full-service pop-in pop-out mounts which allow access to the back of each screen and its connections. These mounts have micro adjustments which enable the installer to ensure the entire wall sits flat and level. When choosing your installer always ensure they have video wall installation experience, (as not all AV companies do), ensure they have good technical knowledge of the hardware, systems, and software they are required to install and commission. 3/ Commissioning is often the most important and underrated aspect of a video wall project. Commissioning ensures that each screen is set up correctly, will all wake up at the same time, go to sleep when required, and ensure they are connected in the correct way to the sources, processors, or matrix to deliver your content as required by you. 4/ Project Management. When one company takes on project management, of product specification, supply, delivery and installation, they become responsible for the end product, ensuring it works as it should and does what you require. If something goes wrong, you have one point of contact. With some video walls there can be a wide range of variables. If you split up the project it is not always easy to pinpoint and hold one person accountable for an issue and even harder when various parties have been involved. In conclusion, unless you have specialist experience in video wall technology, we would always suggest seeking advice and installation/commissioning support from a specialist. And, for large projects, opting for complete project management will take away the anxiety of any necessary troubleshooting which may not rest with one individual party.
- Digital Signage Installation Tips – How to Plan a Successful Digital Signage Project/Install
Digital signage has become an essential tool for businesses looking to engage customers, share information, and strengthen their brand presence. However, the success of any display depends heavily on proper planning and installation. A well-planned purchase and installation improves visibility, reliability, longevity, and ease of maintenance, while a quick purchase and installation can quickly lead to screen failures, network issues, overheating, or expensive rework. In this guide, we share practical Digital Signage Installation Tips to help you plan a successful and professional signage deployment. Tip 1 : Location Tip 2: Screen and solution selection Tip 3: CMS software choice Tip 4: Cable management Tip 5: Test before final mounting Tip 6: Consider environmental conditions Tip 7: Prioritise safety and compliance Tip 8: Maintenance and future expansion Tip 9: Do you require planning consent? Tip 1: Choose the Right Screen Location One of the most important digital signage installation tips is selecting the correct screen location. The best display in the world will underperform if installed in the wrong position. Consider where your audience naturally spends time and how the screen will be viewed throughout the day. For window-facing installations, direct sunlight and glare are major factors. In these environments, a standard commercial screen may appear washed out, which is why high brightness digital window displays are often essential. Key considerations: Ensure the display is visible from multiple viewing angles Avoid excessive glare or reflections Consider viewing distance when selecting screen size Ensure there is access for future maintenance Check nearby power and network availability Tip 2: Select the Correct Digital Signage Screen Not all digital screens are designed for the same environment. Choosing the correct hardware for the installation location is critical for long-term performance and warranty protection. Important factors include: Screen Brightness Brightness is especially important for: Shop windows Reception areas Brightly lit environments Outdoor-facing displays For window displays, professional high brightness screens (often 2500–4000 nit) are typically required. Screen Size Match the screen size to: Viewing distance Available mounting space Content layout Resolution and Orientation Think about the content being displayed: Portrait or landscape? Video-heavy or text-heavy? Close viewing or long-distance viewing? Commercial Mounting Always use professional commercial-grade mounting systems rated for the display size and weight, particularly in public-facing environments. Tip 3: Choose the Right CMS Software Your CMS (Content Management System) controls how content is uploaded, scheduled, and managed across your screens. This is one of the most overlooked Digital Signage Installation Tips, yet it directly affects day-to-day usability. Questions to ask: How often will content need updating? Do you need remote content management? Can content be scheduled easily? Can multiple screens synchronise content? Is technical support UK-based? Is there an annual licence fee? While some platforms advertise “free CMS software,” it is important to ensure the software is properly maintained and supported long-term. Tip 4: Plan Cable Management Early Poor cable management can ruin the appearance of an otherwise professional installation. Planning cable routes in advance helps improve aesthetics, safety, and future servicing. Best practices: Use cable trunking or conduits where required Label network and power cables clearly Avoid strain on HDMI and power connections Consider future maintenance access For larger installations, organised cabling in the comms cabinet is equally important. Tip 5: Test Everything Before Final Mounting One of the simplest but most valuable Digital Signage Installation Tips is to fully test the system before final installation. Before mounting the display permanently: Power the screen on Connect to the network or WiFi Test CMS connectivity Confirm content playback Check screen brightness and colour settings Test touch functionality where applicable This helps avoid unnecessary revisits or downtime after installation. Tip 6: Consider Ventilation and Environmental Conditions Digital signage displays generate heat and require proper airflow. This becomes especially important for: Recessed installations Enclosed displays Shop window environments High brightness screens Environmental factors to consider include: Temperature fluctuations Humidity Dust exposure Direct sunlight If screens are being enclosed within bespoke joinery or recesses, always seek manufacturer approval to avoid warranty issues. Tip 7: Prioritise Safety and Compliance Safety should always be part of the installation planning process. Important considerations: Use certified mounting hardware Ensure electrical work complies with regulations Avoid blocking exits or walkways Ensure screens are securely fixed Train staff on safe operation if required Professional installation reduces risk and protects both customers and employees. Tip 8: Plan for Maintenance and Future Expansion Digital signage systems require ongoing maintenance to remain reliable and visually effective. Routine maintenance should include: Cleaning screens, keep them dust free, (never spray directly onto displays) Checking for dead pixels or image issues Updating firmware and software Inspecting cabling and connections Future-proofing your installation can also save significant cost later. Consider: Installing spare cable routes Choosing modular hardware Selecting scalable CMS platforms Allowing for additional future displays Tip 9: For outdoor screens, always check with your local planning department, as you may well require planning consent before installation. This could also apply to large window displays in residential areas where a precedent has not been set. Choosing the Right Digital Signage Provider - Contact us Selecting the right supplier is just as important as choosing the screen itself. A good digital signage provider should offer: Advice on product choice, and solution specs Mounting option advice Commercial-grade hardware Reliable CMS software Installation expertise Technical support Long-term service and advice Look for providers with real project experience and proven installation case studies. Why Professional Digital Signage Installation Matters Even experienced installers encounter challenging environments, difficult access issues, network complications, and unexpected technical hurdles. Professional installation services help ensure: Reliable operation Safe mounting Correct configuration Reduced downtime Long-term performance By following these Digital Signage Installation Tips, businesses can create a reliable, visually impactful digital signage solution that delivers long-term value and maximises customer engagement.
