Client: Ringley Homes Ringley Home's workspace initiatives have cultivated a tight-knit and vibrant community of ambitious scale-ups and entrepreneurs. This dynamic environment offers them the flexibility to thrive within collaborative and creatively charged office spaces. The solution? A striking 1.5M x 2M LED Video wall with a 3.9 pixel pitch, strategically positioned to captivate the attention of anyone passing by. - Small screens create a beauty display...
Client: Quest Exhibits - SK2 Product Interest: 10" screens The beauty of small displays playing one video repeated and in sync creates a curved visually impactful statement. Giving the customer SK2 a unique digital display for their trade exhibition at the Cannes Film festival Duty Free exhibition. Quest Exhibits were looking for a bespoke digital solution – something that would look visually and technically remarkable. Their client SK2, a Japanese brand of luxury skin care products, needed a digital solution to create an impact at the Cannes Film festival Duty Free exhibition. They had a short video of less than 2 minutes as their only content and wanted this to be played across a width of 6 meters with a height of 2.5m. Their creative vision was for their video to be played across a curved curtain of small individual digital signage screens so the content was duplicated across each screen. It was settled that a 10” digital signage screen was the perfect size to achieve the curved effect they were looking for but in order to create this smooth curve of digital screens sitting just off a curved wall, mounting them was a challenge. This time, mounting these screens to the wall using Vesa mounts was not going to work; the solution was for us to hang them from a series of suspended cables. It was decided to cover the area wanted, we would need to have 12 drops of 8 screens per drop. Each of which would need to be powered in a wireless fashion. Windsor designed the bespoke digital solution, specified, supplied, built, commissioned & installed this ‘one off’ Suspended Digital Video wall curtain. Using a total of 96 10” Philips digital signage screens, each powered through the suspended cables with preloaded content which connected via a Wi-Fi system to ensure a timed start and smooth running of content playing simultaneously across all 96 screens. The result was stunning and viewer feedback was amazing.

The beautiful LCD 2 screen x 3 screen video wall set within a beautifully finished architecturally designed slatted wall walkway this space sets off the experience of visiting the studio. The concept of the video wall was to allow visitors a video-window into in their filming studios – to bring back of house to the front on-screen. - LCD Video Wall Installation for London Design Agency Emperor
Creating a High-Impact Digital Centrepiece for a Creative Studio. Emperor, London-based design agency, approached Windsor Displays looking for a premium LCD video wall installation to create visual impact within the foyer area of their studio. The objective was to create a striking digital centrepiece that immediately elevated the visitor experience upon entering the space, while also providing a dynamic platform to showcase the agency’s latest creative reels, branding content, campaigns, and digital visuals. The solution needed to feel modern, architectural, and fully integrated into the studio environment - not simply a screen mounted onto a wall. The Brief - A Digital Statement Piece that sat well within the space As a creative agency specialising in branding and communications, visual presentation was naturally a key part of the project. Emperor wanted a large-format digital display solution that would: · create a strong first impression, · reinforce their premium creative identity, · showcase life-sized imagery and motion graphics, · and inspire visiting clients through impactful visual communications. The display needed to deliver: · sharp image quality, · seamless multi-screen content, · and a clean, modern aesthetic suitable for a contemporary design studio. An LCD video wall was selected as the ideal solution due to its ability to provide: · large-scale visuals, · ultra-narrow bezel design, · commercial reliability, · and exceptional image clarity at close viewing distances. Designing a ‘Built-In’ LCD Video Wall One of the main project challenges was that the original wall structure was not suitable for directly mounting a large-format LCD video wall system. Due to the combined weight of the mounting system and commercial display panels, the existing wall construction would not provide sufficient structural support for a secure installation. To overcome this, the decision was made to construct a new false wall structure specifically designed to accommodate the video wall installation. This approach allowed the displays to be: · recessed into the wall, · mounted flush with the surrounding finishes, · and integrated seamlessly into the architecture of the reception area. The result achieved the sleek, minimalist ‘built-in’ appearance the design agency was aiming for. Why Recessed Video Walls Create Greater Impact A recessed LCD video wall installation creates a far more premium appearance compared to a standard surface-mounted solution. By integrating the displays into the architecture itself, the installation becomes part of the environment rather than appearing as an afterthought. Benefits of recessed video wall installations include: · cleaner aesthetics, · reduced visual bulk, · improved cable concealment, · enhanced architectural integration, · and a more immersive viewing experience. This style of installation is increasingly popular within: · corporate headquarters, · creative agencies, · experience centres, · luxury retail, · and modern reception environments. Infrastructure & Installation Considerations As with many professional video wall projects, careful planning was required before installation commenced. Considerations included: · structural wall support, · ventilation requirements, · cable routing, · power and data distribution, · service access, · and overall alignment precision. Professional LCD video wall installations require extremely accurate mounting and calibration to ensure: · minimal bezel visibility, · perfect screen alignment, · and seamless content presentation across all displays. The recessed design also required careful consideration around airflow and future maintenance accessibility. The Result The completed LCD video wall installation now provides Emperor with a striking focal point within their London studio reception area. The display delivers: · impactful digital storytelling, · engaging motion graphics, · brand-led communications, · and a premium visitor experience from the moment clients enter the space. The final result successfully combines: · architecture, · digital technology, · and visual communications into one integrated feature installation. Considering an LCD Video Wall Installation? LCD video walls continue to be one of the most effective ways to create visual impact within: · reception areas, · creative studios, · corporate headquarters, · showrooms, · and customer experience spaces. The success of any LCD video wall project relies heavily on: · correct structural planning, · suitable mounting solutions, · professional installation, · and careful integration into the environment. If you are considering an LCD video wall installation for your business, Windsor Displays can help advise on suitable display technologies, mounting approaches, and installation solutions tailored to your space.

- Going large with Samsung 146” LED Screen for Sports Bars
Client: McGoldricks Sport Bar Product Interest: Large LED Video Wall Solutions “Amazing,” is how Paul Corrigan described the impact his Samsung 146” LED wall has had in his bar. “A big screen is what people are looking for from their sports bar, the better the quality, the further they will travel”. McGoldricks had a 3x3 video wall, with wide bezels and although it offered a good size display, the screens created lots of reflection and the wide bezels interrupted the overall large screen viewing experience. At McGoldricks they envisioned a big LED Screen for Sports Bars which would impress their audience and deliver great picture quality and the ultimate sports ‘big screen’ experience. The new screen is truly a seamless video wall. Here are 3 benefits of the large LED display to McGoldricks Immersion The large LED display creates a more immersive viewing experience for their customers. It provides a captivating 'realism’, giving them the ability to see more of the action in greater detail making them feel like they are there, cheering on their favourite team. Increased Clarity It is true, the bigger your screen, the easier it is to appreciate its picture quality. This Full HD LED display allowed for a higher pixel density and richer blacks, resulting in greater detail and clarity. The image is sharper, and viewers see finer details and contrast in the content – it makes the experience more real! Improved Visibility When watching from further away in the bar, the large LED display still ensures excellent visibility for everyone. The fine pixel pitch and high definition of the display means everyone can still enjoy a clear view of the content. LED screens also have a wide viewing angle, which allows viewers to see the content clearly from different positions in the bar. The large bar room required a screen with presence and superb picture quality to ensure the sports club delivered the best picture quality and screen size in the area. The Award “The Scotland Sports Bar of the Year award was no doubt partly because of the great impression the large LED display made on the judges,” Paul said. “And its value has been further proven since the award was published in the Daily Record, and that has got people talking and has really increased our footfall”. The impressive size and stunning picture quality of 146” LED wall featuring 1.68 pixel pitch is wowing their customers and drawing in crowds to watch their favourite sports. Delighted with their new LED screen quote
- 7 key reasons why Televisions may not be suitable for commercial use.
A common question we are often asked, is why do I need a Digital Signage screen and can I just use a TV in my office or store? The ultimate answer lies in the word ‘Commercial’. If you are a business, you are a commercial entity, you are using this product for commercial benefit and in a commercial environment. You wouldn’t buy home contents insurance for your business premises, so why opt for a consumer TV? Yes TVs can essentially display what a digital signage screen can, they are 4K they look great, they can play from a USB stick, and you can even plug in an HDMI cable for a media player plus they can sometimes include a 5 year warranty. Lots of people do use TVs successfully for a while in a bar for example or a community hall, or waiting room. But here are 7 good reasons to choose a professional digital signage screen over a TV for commercial use. 7 key reasons why you should choose commercial over consumer TVs: 1. Commercial Screens are designed to operate 24/7, 18/7 or 16/7 TVs are not. Digital Signage screens are built using commercial grade parts designed to last for longer playback times. 2. Warranty – Commercial screens come with 3 year commercial warranty. TVs do not, they are designed for consumer use, if you check the fine print of all consumer TV warranties, they all state ‘not covered for commercial use’. 3. Commercial Brightness – Commercial screen brightness on average, range from 450cd/m2 or nits to 4000cdm2. TVs do not have this range of brightness most are around 250 – 350cdm2 and will look dull when compared with a commercial screen. If you wish to mount a screen in a window space, always choose a Digital Signage Screen, which is 700cd or more. 4. Mounting Orientation – TVs are very rarely designed for portrait mounting. If you want to mount a screen in portrait, always choose a digital signage screen. (Note: not all digital signage screens are made for portrait mounting). 5. Cosmetic looks – Commercial screens tend to maintain a more standard cosmetic look, often with more even unbranded bezels and no visible buttons or controls. TVs can change cosmetically on an almost yearly basis, following fashion trends. This can be an issue if you need consistency within your business. 6. Digital Signage Screens offer Secure playback, which cannot be easily interrupted. When using a tv alone without the addition of a media player, you can easily leave your screen open to people being able to screen cast or connect to your TV. With Digital Signage screens they are locked down and secure. 7. Sophisticated Built-in media players – Commercial screens have the ability to be controlled remotely via a secure cloud system, many contain built-in sophisticated scheduling media players and often offer a more diverse range of inputs, i.e USB, HDMI, DVI, Display Port. The above is not an exhaustive list as there many more reasons, but it illustrates why you should think carefully before following the TV route for your commercial application. - What is a Video Wall?
A video wall is a cluster of specifically connected screens, mounted together to create one large video display, designed to create big visual impact. Many companies use video walls as a statement piece in a reception or a prominent public area to impress guests or visitors. They are also used to display large video images to capture attention and deliver messages and information in large spaces to large audiences. You might be forgiven for thinking these are just a set of TV’s mounted in a group but these are commercial screens designed to run up to 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. 2 main types of video wall Today the term video wall describes two quite different technologies. LCD Video wall or LED Video wall, otherwise known as DL-LED (direct Lit) LED. LCD Video screen style is typically made up of 49″ or 55″ LCD screens mounted together often in patterns of 2 wide x 2 deep (4 screens) 3 wide x 3 deep (9 screens) and in other larger arrangements too. LED Video walls are constructed from led modules to create a large seamless single screen. This type of video wall can theoretically be as big as you wish. Historically you will have seen these as backdrops at music concerts, sporting events, airports and train stations, but more and more LED displays have also become common place in large retails stores, shopping malls and large corporate offices. LED is used for outdoor as well as indoor displays. One image or multi-image? LCD Video walls are usually desired for their ability to display super-sized video content across 4, 6, 9 or more screens but they can also be used to show individual videos on each screen. We commonly see the individual screens used in security and operations centres for applications like multi-location CCTV monitoring. Using multi-screen inputs can allow extra digital creativity when designing content, playing multiple videos and content with in one video wall, can really attract attention and make your message stand out. LCD video walls also have bezels or ‘frames’ between sections of screen – the most obvious visual difference between LCD and LED Display screen. This slim protective screen edge is actually very attractive in corporate and retail settings however LED screens offer a seamless, arguably more modern look. If you look closely enough, you’ll see the screen is made up of hundreds of individual diodes and these give higher brightness and greater contrast than most LCD screens. Viewing distance from the screen is critical in specifying the correct pixel pitch for LED screens so that images do not appear pixelated or low resolution. Which is best for my project LED or LCD? If your large screen is for outdoors, usually LED would be your best choice For 2×2 or 3×3 or walls up to around 4m wide LCD is probably ideal For 4m – 6m in width you should consider both as an option For 6 metres or wider, LED would be the better choice…depending on viewing distance For close viewing and HD viewing, opt for LCD. Can a video wall go anywhere? How should I mount it? A Video wall can be mounted on a wall or from the ceiling, they can also be mounted to freestanding mounting systems. With LED you can even create circular video displays. When mounting multiple screens to a wall or ceiling, brick or concrete is ideal for fixing, however, plasterboard stud walls would usually require strengthening to hold the weight of the video wall. It is important when mounting a video wall/large screen that you mount to a flat surface, as this will give you the best flat screen finish you are looking for. Finishing and connecting my video wall Even though LCD screens have a small bezel edge, when mounted onto pop-in pop-out mounts your display will protrude from your wall by around 160mm. Which can leave you with an unsightly edge to your display. Lots of customers create apertures/fake walls to recess the screens, giving the modern flush screen to wall finish. Alternatively, you can create a frame to finish off the edges. Behind the screens you can connect a variety of input sources, such as media players, sky box, PCs etc. Depending on your requirements you may also need other hardware such as a controller, processor, a matrix, AV/IP solutions as well as cabling and software to connect your screens together to offer seamless management of content. They also require specialist mounting, installation, and setup. [I moved this section from the end of the ‘2 main types of video wall’ section above] A video wall is a project, which needs consideration and expertise to specify, install and commission. Always speak with a professional to find out which video wall set up is best for your location, requirements and budget.
